Erik Johnson is an ice hockey defenceman for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League. He was drafted during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the St.Louis Blues in the 1st overall. Nicknamed “Condor” he represented the U.S in several tournaments and gained further recognition through his achievements in the hockey world. Though he started his NHL career with the St.Louis Blues, he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche by the team later on. He got drafted by the USA’s National Hockey Team Development Program before his NHL career began.

Erik made his international stage debut at the 2005 World U-17 Hockey Challenge as part of the United States team. In the same year, he won a gold medal at the U-18 World Hockey Championships. But Erik’s achievements didn’t just stop there. In 2007 he participated in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and won titles like Tournament’s All-Star Team and Tournament’s Best Defenceman.
