Jamal Adeen Thomas chose a different career path unlike his renowned father, Clarence Thomas, who is the Supreme Court’s longest-serving judge.

He worked in the field of finance, according to the Christian Science Monitor. In addition, he is now recruited at John F. Van Der Hyde & Associates as the Director of Supervision.

Before that, he was employed at Wells Fargo and BB&T Scott and Stringfellow. Not only that, but Jamal was also an options trader with Wachovia Securities.

As the sole son of an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, his father was nominated for the post by President George H. W. Bush in 1991.

Clarence Thomas tied a knot with his colleague, Virginia Lamp in 1987. She is a lobbyist and personal assistant to Republican Congressman Dick Armey.

Clarence kept custody of Jamal even after marrying Virginia Lamp. He also focused on raising his son with his second wife.

In 1997, they brought in Mark Martin Jr., Who is Thomas’s six years old great-nephew, who had been living with his mother.

Their shared interest in racial equality attracted them together. Kathy was also involved in a number of rallies about a variety of social causes.

Their one and only child was born a few years after their honeymoon and chose the name Jamal for their son. Jamal is a Muslim name.
