Susan Deixler, aged 77, is the ex-wife of American singer Barry Manilow. They were high school sweethearts who were married for a year when Susan was only 19 years old.

Deixler was in her last year of teenage when she married Manilow, her high school sweetheart at Eastern District High School, Brooklyn, New York. According to the yearbook, she happened to be one of the prettiest girls in the school, while he was the year’s best musician.

In his autobiography, Manilow called her the ‘perfect wife.’ In 1964, the high school power couple got hitched together. But he left her after only a year of marriage to pursue a musical adventure.

I’ve had kids and life, but that was long ago. ‘I’m a private person, but I’m pleased for him,’ she continued. ‘I truly am.’

In his 1987 autobiography, Sweet Life, Susan was adorable, small with great legs and a voluptuous figure as per Manilow. He added that she had jet-black hair, dark brown eyes, and a very contagious smile that lit up the whole room.

After Manilow told her he was going on “this magnificent musical experience that I saw within my reach,” Deixler filed for an annulment rather than a divorce.

It has already been half a century, and Susan’s hurt and hatred have diminished.

As of this writing, she is very happy living in her house in Point Reyes Station, California, a small town with only 350 (approx.) people in Marin County, which lies in the north of San Francisco.
