Despite being a few years younger than his brother Danny, Kurt never compromised his skills and unyielding determination.
Even today, they are very close to one another and boast a fantastic relationship, always staying in contact. Kitayama visited Daniel, who now lives in Bandon, Oregon, after winning his first PGA Tour in March 2023.
Besides, the older Kitayama also has an impressive resume as a golf caddie. His Linkedin profile states Daniel has been self-employed as a caddie in Bandon Dunes, Oregon, since August 2009 for over 13 years.
Daniel joined the University of Hawaii-Hilo in Hawaii, earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management. Following that, he attended California State University and completed his master's in Finance major.
Aside from academic credentials, Daniel also participated in several sports activities in college. He was a golf team member and enjoyed basketball during his campus years.
Daniel joined his father's company at a young age, serving as a Field Biologist for seven years. He also became an assistant basketball coach for the Chico Blazin Heat Basketball team for three years, from 2012 to 2015.
After that, he focused solely on his golf career, playing alongside Bryson DeChambeau, a top Puma-sponsored European tour golfer.
Becoming a self-employed caddie was challenging at first, but his tireless dedication and fervid passion proved to be a significant factor in his success.
