Despite the little money, he managed to create Family Guy which was bought by FOX in 1998 and debuted at the beginning of 1999. at the time Seth was just 24 years old and already an executive producer.

In Family Guy, he voices three main characters Peter, Stewie, and Brian Giffin. The show is a satire of the American family and deals with the dysfunction of the Griffin family living in Quahog, Rhode Island.

The show immediately garnered a cult following. The show has earned two Primetime Emmy Awards. The show was later canceled in 2002.

MacFarlane is also the co-creator of the 2005 series American Dad!, which satirizes its main character, Stan Smith. He is also the executive producer of The Winner(2007) which was canceled after seven episodes.
