GENERAL Hospital's Spencer Cassadine and Trina Robinson have been together since the show's 59th season.

However, one-half of the power couple is temporarily leaving the series.

Are Spencer and Trina leaving General Hospital?

Although Spencer Cassadine's actor Nicholas Chavez is temporarily departing General Hospital, Tabyana Ali is staying as Trina Robinson.

Chavez is leaving season 61 to film Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, a show where he portrays the former.

His GH hiatus begins after the episode scheduled for January 31, 2024.

While Chavez is absent, Ali is continuing Trina's storyline.

Instead of recasting the role, Spencer's arc is expected to resume when the Emmy Award winner returns from Monsters.

Monsters was scheduled to film in late 2023 but was delayed by the WGA and Sag-Aftra strikes.

When did Nicholas Chavez and Tabyana Ali join GH?

In July 2021, Chavez joined GH as Spencer and replaced the character's previous actor Nicolas Bechtel.

On March 25, 2022, Ali was cast as Trina; she took over the part from Sydney Mikayla.

Regarding their working relationship, Chavez told Soap Opera Digest: "I could find many things that I loved about Tabyana that made finding my way into our romantic relationship on screen a breeze."

Ali also expressed: "First of all, his work ethic and his ability to be attuned to detail...I admire that a lot.

"When he’s in his mode, he’s really in his mode, and I really appreciate that about him."
