Kaiir Elam is a rising American football player. He has been playing in the Southeastern Conference for the Florida Gators. Elam plays as a cornerback for his team. Kaiir was named into the Second-team All-SEC in 2020 and SEC All-Freshman Team in 2019. 

Kaiir Elam was born on May 5, 2001, in Riviera Beach, Florida. He is the son of Abram Elam and his wife, Shayla Davis. His father a former American football safety in the National Football League for several clubs. Elam graduated from The Benjamin School and enrolled at the University of Florida. Kaiir stands six feet and two inches tall and weighs 88 kg. 

Kaiir Elam's American Football Career

Kaiir started playing American football along with his father in their backyard. His father is his biggest source of inspiration. Elam played basketball and football and ran track while in High School. Elam represented High School in American football and was named the Palm Beach 5A-1A football defensive player of the year while recording  71 tackles, three sacks and nine interceptions in senior year. 

Kaiir received numerous offers from universities and committed to play college football in Florida over offers from Colorado, Georgia and Miami. Elam played in all thirteen games for the Gators and made five starts in his freshman year. He recorded eleven tackles, three interceptions and four additional passes. At the end of the season, Elam was named the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team. 

Kaiir started in all twelve games for the sophomore season. He finished the season with 39 tackles (28 solos), 1.0 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups and one fumble recovery. Elam was named the  Coaches All-SEC First Team and the Associated Press All-SEC Second Team. In the junior season, The player started as a cornerback in nine games and recorded three solo tackles in Florida’s season-opening game against Florida Atlantic. 

Journey to the 2022 NFL Draft 

Elam finished his junior year on a high note and has decided to forgo his senior year at the University of Florida and list his name for the upcoming 2022 NFL draft. He is ranked among the top prospect in the upcoming draft, and Kenyon Green and Andrew Booth.
